Reflexology is a deeply relaxing treatment with therapeutic benefits.

Specific areas of the feet are reflex points to all organs and structures of the body.

By stimulating these reflex areas, healing is stimulated in the corresponding part of the body. Reflexology understands that many illnesses are due to blockages in the flow of energy or Qi through pathways in the body, and from a slowing down of biochemical reactions within the cells. This leads to imbalances and disharmony in the internal environment and the development of health conditions.

By stimulating specific reflex points, chemical reactions are speeded up, encouraging the bodies natural healing processes. Energy blockages are released, aiding the flow of energy. Balance within the body is restored and healing takes place.

Reflexology can be of benefit to many health conditions. It understands that the body works as one and that all systems of the body are connected and effect each other.

One of the major cause of an internal imbalance is stress. Reflexology not only helps address the results of stress, but as a deeply relaxing treatment, it treats and helps relieve stress itself.

You may wish to have a Reflexology treatment to help with a specific health concern, or you may simply enjoy the deeply relaxing nature of the treatment.

The treatment involves a brief warming up massage of the feet, followed by pressure to the reflex areas, mostly on the soles of the feet. Pressure is in accordance with your preference.

In most cases all reflex areas of the body will be treated as all areas of the body are interconnected and effect each other.

In follow up treatments, more attention may be given to specific areas as appropropriate.

As well as stimulating the healing process, Reflexology can detect imbalances in the body by the texture of the reflex area or by your responce, such as a certain area being sensitive. In such cases, health and lifestyle advice might be given.
